ABOUT PLAYA NEGRA
Playa Negra is a quiet, sandy paradise known for world-class surfing and right-hand barrel waves. But you don’t need to be a surfer to appreciate the untouched, soft sandy beaches while getting lost discovering tide pools at sunset. The town is located about 35 minutes south of Tamarindo and the famous Playa Avellanas is less than a 10-minute drive away.

Most visitors fly into Liberia, the region’s international airport, and then drive approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to reach Playa Negra. Alternatively, guests can fly into San Jose and drive approximately 4-5 hours to reach Playa Negra.
